Jennifer Robertson

Managing Director

After more than ten years in private legal practice, Jennifer made the strategic career move to become a corporate governance consultant at Board Matters. Throughout her private practice career, Jennifer had been sitting on boards of many organisations, so she undertook business studies at QUT during which time Jennifer decided to make the leap into the world of corporate governance consulting.

Today, Jennifer is still a practicing lawyer, governance consultant and company director.  Over the last 15 years, she has sat on or chaired a number of boards. Her board appointments include statutory bodies, public authorities, an APRA regulated superannuation fund, an ASIC regulated financial planning entity and many not-for-profit organisations.

Jennifer is the first independent member of the Queensland Fire Emergency Services’ Board of Management. She is also currently an Advisory Board Member of the Nasdaq Center for Board Excellence’s Advisory Board and she also chairs the Audit and Compliance Committee for Queensland Independent Schools Block Grant Authority.

Elizabeth Jameson

Consultant & Founder

In 2002, after almost 15 years as a corporate/commercial lawyer, including as a partner of national law firm Deacons (now Norton Rose Fulbright) and over 10 years as a practising director, Elizabeth founded Board Matters and its associated governance legal practice, Board Matters Legal. Today, over 18 years later, she is the Founder Consultant, working with a team of specialist governance, legal and strategy consultants.

Drawing together the strands of her career, Elizabeth has provided corporate legal and governance assistance and advice, with a real-life ‘practising director’ perspective, to a large range of companies, organisations, and industries for well over 25 years. This has included listed, private, public sector and not-for-profit boards.

She also maintains an active portfolio of directorships, presently with RACQ (Deputy Chair), Queensland Theatre (Chair), Endeavour Foundation and John Villiers Trust. Her past directorships have also included the boards of over 20 organisations, for-profit and not-for-profit in a diverse array of industries and sectors.

Rebecca Mitchell

Consultant

Rebecca is a successful corporate leader and lawyer with over 18 years’ experience providing strategic, legal and regulatory advice across a wide range of Board, CEO Leadership Team and Executive level issues. Focusing her current and extensive skills on managing and resolving high risk legal and commercial issues, Rebecca has acted for and against industry and federal regulatory bodies and is well versed in all aspects of corporate governance and legal risk management including Board, Audit & Risk Committee and CEO level advice and reporting.

With a reputation for her exceptional ability to develop excellent rapport and respect quickly, Rebecca has worked across and within a large and diverse range of organisations, including the Australia Competition and Consumer Commission Telstra Corporation Ltd and, most recently, with multinationals in the financial services sector. Experienced as a lawyer, a commercial manager and regulatory advisor both domestically and internationally, Rebecca brings a strong and savvy approach to issues management and is able to appreciate (and work effectively with) the array of different perspectives that stakeholders inevitably bring.

A proactive, inspiring and approachable advisor, Rebecca’s long-standing expertise traverses all aspects of corporate governance and legal compliance including education/training across organisational levels, incident management and regulatory enforcement actions/litigation. A seasoned corporate operator, Rebecca has recent, direct and long-standing involvement in negotiating and implementing some of Australia’s most complex commercial infrastructure and regulatory arrangements as well as resolving high stakes and multifaceted regulatory enforcement matters.

Linda Bracken

Consultant

Linda Bracken is a dynamic non-executive director and senior executive with a reputation for professional integrity, creating high performance teams and large-scale transformational leadership. She combines her inquiring mind and interpersonal skills with extensive digital and customer/audience knowledge to achieve results in a positive and inclusive way — bringing people with her — at board level or with corporate clients. As a result, Linda has led some of the most significant developments across the media, music and digital landscape in Australia.

Linda was at the forefront of change across the ABC leveraging disruptive trends and technologies. Introducing design thinking into content creation and digital product development, as Head of Digital Experience, she was responsible for digital products such as iView, ABC Local online, ABC News, ABC Listen, ABC Kids Listen and triple j.

Linda is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Sarah Zeljko

Consultant

Sarah is a professional Non-Executive Director with extensive executive, operational, governance and advisory experience across large ASX listed, government and private corporations, having led a range of Boards, Committees and Executives through strategic and operational challenges.

Sarah is recognised for her commercial acumen and has an extensive executive career leading governance, risk, compliance, legal, insurance and internal audit teams. She has a history delivering revenue growth in large corporations through developing and executing corporate strategy, negotiating commercial agreements, capital raising, M&A and project management across complex multimillion-dollar transactions.

Dr Christina Turner

Consultant

Christina joined Board Matters after 25 years as a human capital executive specialising in organisational and leadership development, executive review and coaching, and workplace conflict. She has had a successful corporate career leading the human resource management functions of a number of global and national companies, as well as consulting to a range of private and public sector organisations.

Christina has qualifications in human resources management, law, and business coaching, and has also worked as an academic in a number of Queensland universities. She has also held a number of roles on the boards of public, private and not-for-profit organisations.

Christina is a Past President and Fellow of the Australian Human Resources Institute, a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management, a Fellow of the Institute of Managers and Leaders, a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and an Approved Queensland Supreme Court Mediator.

Camren Cutuli

Graduate Consultant

Camren joined the Board Matters team in 2021 as a Graduate Consultant.  He was instinctively drawn to the area of governance to further explore his interests behind the structures and powers of organisational bodies and their respective boards seen out in the world.

He is looking forward to developing his reputation within the governance sector as an expert consultant providing practical and strategic solutions to Board Matters’ clients. With a diverse range of legal services and media marketing skills and experience, Camren is passionate in his pursuant of governance and strategy expertise and driven to ensure Board Matters’ clients stay up to date with the latest in governance developments.

Camren holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Media and Communications, and is admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland.

From his studies and post admission roles, Camren is skilled in the implementation of critical and creative problem-solving techniques focused on meeting the needs of client briefs and resolving challenges effectively. Camren’s legal background and professional communications skills ensure he is ready and able to deliver informed strategies in a tailored manner and capably support Board Matters’ senior consultants in delivering excellent client experiences, no matter the issue at hand.

Kellie Hunt

Consultant

After more than ten years practising as a solicitor in Queensland, both in private practice and in public sector in-house roles, Kellie advanced into C-suite executive management which included being appointed as Acting Commissioner of the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC), the statutory authority which regulates Queensland’s building and construction industry.

Kellie has experience in providing confidential and high quality administrative, legal and corporate governance services and support in dynamic government and legal organisations. She has proven success at supporting boards and ministers to ensure organisations and business units operate efficiently and in accordance with statutory and corporate governance obligations.
